We have a responsibility to know the needs of the Veteran and be able to provide solutions to their housing needs. -By Randy Cullen

July 25th, 2014

The VA Home Loan is increasing in popularity. Not since 1947, after the end of World War II, has there been such a sharp rise in demand for VA Home Loans. We have a responsibility to know the needs of the Veteran and be able to provide solutions to their housing needs. This is a joint effort between Real Estate Professionals, Builders, and Mortgage Professionals. We all need to be ready for the challenge.

Fairway Independent Mortgage is committed to helping Veterans with VA financing options. Fairway supports the Wounded Warrior Campaign that gives away mortgage-free homes and provides training for loan officers and Real Estate Professionals to serve those who have served our country.

I am proud to announce that we will bring the “Boot Campaign” to the Twin Cities. The objective in offering the Certified Military Residential Specialist Program is to provide a platform whereby Real Estate Professionals can be trained and equipped to handle with excellence the home purchase needs of active duty and former military clients.

Why would a real estate professional consider training to provide veterans with a more professional and positive real estate experience? This is a way to honor the men and women of the United States military and their families for their service to our nation, and to fulfill the obligation we have to each and every one of these heroes for the freedoms we enjoy. The men and women of the military are often a “targeted population,” with some businesses cheating, scamming, and over billing for services. Many are young, financially inexperienced, transient, and unaware of dishonest businesses. This program will equip all of us to be aware of the challenges faced by our Veterans and provide solutions to help them overcome their housing issues. Read the rest of this entry »

How many consumers are YOU going to help educate this week? – Barb Crea

July 18th, 2014

Recently, I’ve seen several articles and blogs commenting on how the housing market is seeing a big uptick with predictions of a strong finish for 2014. Despite this year’s home sales trailing last year’s by nearly 10% after a weather delayed spring selling market, pending sales are starting to rise rapidly which means the existing home sales report will follow suit. Foot traffic (the number of people actually out there looking for houses) is strong and expected to increase over the next couple of months, especially if we get out there and help educate the consumer.

HousingWire just did an article on a study by Numara indicating that potential homebuyers, including move-up buyers, are on the sidelines believing they’re not qualified in terms of credit, or thinking they don’t have a big enough down payment. These potential homebuyers are afraid of being rejected, and may delay fulfilling their dreams based on ideas that may not be reality. It’s our responsibility to help these people and make sure they understand all of their options. Happy 4th of July! -By Barb Crea

July 3rd, 2014

The “Fourth of July” just naturally puts a smile on all of our faces, especially this year with a 3-day holiday weekend! It’s a federal holiday, also known as Independence Day, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. The 4th of July is commonly celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbeques, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions and more. Along with the United States, the 4th of July is also celebrated by Denmark, Norway, Sweden and England.

Ever wonder what the meaning behind the red, white, and blue colors of the American flag mean? Red stands for hardiness and valor. White symbolizes purity and innocence. Blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

As we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, let’s not forget those who have fought for, and continue to fight for, the freedom that so many of us take for granted each and every day. We have SO MUCH to be grateful for – we are truly blessed. I am proud to work for a company so dedicated to our Military. Fairway has donated 20 homes in the past two years to our Military Warriors, the most recent being June 24th to Retired Army Sgt. Charles Alkala who suffered multiple injuries related to a blast with intensive firefighting while serving in Iraq. Read the rest of this entry »
